WHAT IS RADIESSE?

Radiesse is an injectable biostimulant that provides immediate contouring, along with collagen stimulation and elastin production. This product can fill in wrinkles long term, unlike typical dermal fillers. This works best for wrinkles or folds around the mouth and nose, and the back of the hands.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF RADIESSE?

The main benefit of Radiesse is that it fills in areas where volume loss may have occurred on the face and hands to give a more youthful appearance. The product is made of materials that are found naturally in the body, meaning the product is completely safe and non-allergenic. There is also no downtime after this treatment, meaning patients can return straight back to their normal routine. Results typically last anywhere from 18 to 24 months, which is a huge benefit over traditional dermal fillers that may only last 6 months or so.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU HAVE RADIESSE DONE? HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

Radiesse treatments can be done as the patient sees fit. Because the results are extremely long-lasting, patients may only need the treatment done once every 2 years or so. Only 1 treatment is needed to see maximum results.

HOW DOES RADIESSE WORK?

The product is made up of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) gel microspheres that begin working immediately after injection. CaHA is made up of calcium and phosphate, which occur naturally in the body. While the results will be instantaneous, the product will also naturally stimulate collagen production, which will keep the skin looking full for a long period of time. Even after the product has been absorbed by your body, your collagen will stay in place and the volume won’t disappear.

HOW CAN PATIENTS PREPARE FOR THEIR RADIESSE APPOINTMENT?

It is important that the patient arrives with no makeup and clean skin. The area being treated will also be cleaned by the injector prior to the treatment. Other than this, there is not much else that needs to be done to prepare for the treatment.
