WHAT IS ULTHERAPY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Ultherapy is FDA and Health Canada approved for non-invasive skin-lifting and is a verifiably effective technique for the reduction of wrinkles, fine-lines, and many other age-related concerns. It is a nonsurgical alternative to traditional face or skin-lifting and has been proven to have long-lasting and natural-looking results.

It utilizes ultrasound energy to penetrate deep into the dermis at the most effective temperature and depth, stimulating the body’s own natural-healing process to renew your skin. With ultrasound imaging, our skin technicians are able to highlight specific areas for treatment and target them with maximum precision. This allows a noticeably plumping and smoothing effect that offers younger-looking skin without the use of surgery.

Ultherapy has already been marketed in over 60 countries since its invention and has been performed over a million times with clinically proven results. Amongst patients who have undergone Ultherapy, it has achieved a 95% satisfaction rate, leading more-and-more top clinics to adopt it.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

✓ Reduces the appearance of fine lines and deeper wrinkles

✓ Fresher and younger looking skin

WHAT IS THE ACTUAL PROCEDURE LIKE AND WHERE CAN IT BE USED?

One of the best parts of Ultherapy is that there is absolutely no downtime, and many of our patients are able to return to work the very same day without needing any sort of post-treatment care.

The side-effects of Ultherapy are not severe and can be different for each person (most not experiencing any), but commonly there can be minor swelling/tenderness, occasional numbness, and some redness in the affected areas for a few hours after the treatment. You could experience bruising or tingling immediately following the treatment, but it is uncommon.

A consultation with one of our specialists is the best way to determine who is a good candidate for Ultherapy, but these are some good rules of thumb to see if Ultherapy is right for you:

  1. You are someone with skin that is starting to look or feel less firm due to increased skin laxity.
  2. You have an excess of loose skin under the chin or neck and/or wrinkling and fine-lines in the décolletage and face.
  3. You are 30 or older and experiencing inelastic skin.
  4. You are a younger patient who wants to stay ahead-of-the-game.
  5. You do not have any of the following in the areas you want treated: open wounds, lesions, cystic acne, or a pacemaker/other electronic device.

If you aren’t sure that you’re a good candidate, let our qualified skin technicians know your concerns and they will let you know if Ultherapy is right for you — or if another one of our skin-treatment options would be better-suited.

A TIMELINE OF RESULTS AFTER ULTHERAPY:

For skin lifting, toning, and tightening:

  • Days 1-60: Patients commonly report an immediate “plumping” effect on their fine-lines and wrinkles and a consistent lifting of the skin begins to be noticed.
  • Days 60+: Brow elevation can be noticed along with tighter skin and less sagging.
  •

For skin feel and texture:

  • Days 1-60: Skin feels slightly tighter, smoother, and more even.
  • Days 60+: Noticeably better-fitting and smoother skin.
  •

The results of Ultherapy can last one year or more, and most patients only require a single treatment to notice the incredible outcome.

HOW IT BEATS OUT THE COMPETITORS:

Compared to laser and radiofrequency treatments, Ultherapy is the only nonsurgical procedure to utilize the same ultrasound technology that the medical field has been using for over 50 years. Powerful ultrasound imaging allows Ultherapy to identify problem areas deep within the skin, allowing longer-lasting and more pronounced visible results — with more fine-tuning in depth and temperature than what the other methods can achieve.

Thermage is another option that is often compared to Ultherapy, and the difference between the two for skin-tightening can be difficult to notice. The primary difference between the two is the method of heat delivery: monopolar radiofrequency versus ultrasound. Ultrasound allows Ultherapy to penetrate the dermis to a deeper extent than radiofrequency and provides a better skin-lifting effect; however, Thermage is more effective on larger and more superficial areas and is primarily used for skin-tightening rather than lifting. Thermage is also ideal for areas that Ultherapy is not approved to treat, such as: the arms, abdomen, thighs, and other areas on the body suffering from loose skin.
